Something Sweet for My Mouth and Nose

Today, Friday the 14th, in the month of June and the year of 2013, I was walking around half-round my house. From the front door to the backyard. I had not had my breakfast yet…huhu because there is nothing I can find in the kitchen to eat. So, I start my journey to look for something to eat.

My dad had planted 2 longan trees; one at the front yard and one at the back. At my state, the fruit of longan is called “buah mata kucing” literally translated to English as “cat’s eye fruit”. Errr….please don’t stare at your cat’s eyes. Poor them, hahaha.

Recently, since I love to go to the backyard, I always walk around the tree. Why? Because I saw the fruits as well as the flowers (flowers meaning more fruits).  When I walk really close to the tree, I can smell the fruits. It smells so sweet, if only I can record the smell…I would love to share with you guys. There are longan fruits, brownish, a little bit of red and green. The green color means it does not ripe yet. But I can stop my hand from picking one not-really-ripe longan from the tree when I smell the sweet smell.

Hmm… it’s edible and sweet but I can say that it is not as sweet as if it ripe. One down and I were looking for another one. Just one last bite. SWEEEETT!!

Here some pictures of my sweet longan. I used to study in United State for 4 years and I found the longan in cans at Asian market. I never bought one, though. I never had gut to try one in can because I don’t want to betray the real test of fresh longan. But for those who want to try, give it a try.
